Professor Toula Onoufriou was invited by the Israel Innovation Authority to participate in the second conference on digitization and automation in the oil and gas industry on the 24 & 25 June 2019 which was held in Tel Aviv, Israel. The subject of digitization in the oil and gas industry is one of the central focus areas of the EMERGE CoE. The conference has successfully covered the key thematic areas of i) Advances in the Oil & Gas industry and latest technological trends, ii) Digital and business transformation in the Oil & Gas industry and iii) The Israeli Innovation ecosystem and its effective engagement with the start-up nation. The conference also served as a platform for experts in the field to discuss challenges and opportunities. It has drawn senior officials from the local and global industry, as well as representatives from more than 150 Israeli tech companies. During the conference, tech companies showcased their solutions across a wide range of fields, including automation and digitization, analytics, AI & machine learning, deep learning, machine vision, AR/VR scalable computing systems, cloud environments, unmanned systems, blockchain industrial cyber security, and more.
