Lakis Andronikou

Dr Lakis Andronicou has thirty-four years’ varied experience in the oil and gas industry in areas of design, construction and installation of submarine and land pipelines, structural design, static and dynamic analysis of fixed and flexible risers, strength, buckling and impact of structural elements. This period includes management of the Pipelines Group and of a multidisciplinary team of engineers dealing with a variety of offshore and land-based oil and gas structures such as LNG and FNLG facilities, FPSOs, storage facilities, jetties.

Familiar with the requirements of all the major international / national regulations, codes of practice and standards relating to steel and flexible pipelines and risers. Performed verification of the integrity of numerous offshore and land pipelines worldwide, and fitness for purpose assessment and rehabilitation studies of existing pipelines.

The above required interaction with many international firms including major operators, designers, contractors, consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and regulators worldwide and compliance with international and national regulations on health safety and environmental issues, and the requirements of codes of practice, standards, specifications pertinent to the various projects.

Managerial responsibilities encompass the entire spectrum of technical competence and quality of service, delivery within budget and time schedules, HR matters, Commercial, Legal, Financial and Budgetary matters, business development and marketing, recruitment, training , technical and personal development of  the teams including responsibility for setting goals and objectives , assessment of performance, remuneration and promotions.

Written a number of papers on the behaviour of steel and flexible flowlines, tubular members and ring stiffened cylinders. Participated in JIPs on pipelines and currently a member of the British Standards Committee on pipelines.

Global Pipelines Engineering Manager – Compliance: Leading globally a team of pipelines engineers providing  engineering, project appraisal, consultancy services and risk analysis for all types of pipelines and risers.

Contributing to and supporting the development of Lloyd’s Register’s Energy business worldwide with respect to technical, research and business matters.
