Lazaros Aresti has joined the EMERGE team in 2022 and is currently a Special Scientist and Research fellow at the Faculty of Engineering, Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). Since 2020, Lazaros is a Topic Advisor for Energies Journal, MDPI, was a guest Editor for Energies and Frontiers in Build Environment journals, and a reviewer in several journals. He has worked as a researcher in the i-Therm Horizon 2020 project and he is also a member in three COST Action programs related to renewable energy. Lazaros has obtained his PhD (Philosophy Doctorate) from CUT in 2020 and his Master of Philosophy (MPhil) at the University of Hertfordshire, UK in 2012. In 2012 he worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer and composite design engineer for Airbus and Progressive D&E in projects related to the fully composite aircraft A350 XWB. Furthermore, he is an Engineering consultant at AIRA Technologies, UK focusing on CFD design application and on additive design considerations. During his PhD and MPhil studies he has worked as a teaching assistant and lab assistant in several subjects. In 2011 he took an overseas research work placement for one semester at the University of Mondragon in Spain, for CFD applications using Fluent and Gambit. In 2009 he has obtained a BSc (Hons) in the Aerospace Technology with Management from the University of Hertfordshire, UK.

Finally, Lazaros has numerous journal and conference publications, with updated information found on google scholar profile. Nowadays his research focuses on Renewable Energy Systems (RES), CFD, heat transfer, Life Cycle Analysis, and additive manufacturing.
